In 2014 finally comes The LEGO Movie, the first film for the cinema starring characters from the Danish toy house. The film, whose working title was Lego: The Piece of Resistance, was written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Raining Meatballs, 21 Jump Street).

The LEGO Movie was made by combining three different film techniques: CGI, stop motion, and live-action. The absolute protagonist is Emmett, an ordinary construction worker who will discover he is the chosen one and the only one able to save the universe from the evil Lord Business.

Among the characters in the film will be that of Batman to win fans. The film was a great success, both critically and with the public. Reasons for the excellent response from the audience are undoubtedly the compelling story, the animation, and the overwhelming irony.

A film can give life to a complex universe, in which there is no lack of jokes about pop culture, cult films, and family morality aimed at young and old, intelligently constructed and anything but sickening.

All of which helped make The LEGO Movie a box office success, with $469 million cash worldwide. On a budget of 60 million. Given the success of the film and the Batman character, it was inevitable that the Dark Knight would have a movie of his own.

So in 2017 comes LEGO Batman – The Movie. The absolute protagonist is Gotham’s vigilante.
