They have a chubby, bushy body. Their legs are wide, although their hind legs are more muscular, as this animal moves with small heels. On the front paws, there are four fingers, while on the backhands, there are five, joined by membranes to help it swim during the short time it spends in the water.

Frog is one of the most common amphibians in Europe. It is distributed throughout the continent, except for some islands in the Mediterranean, Ireland, and Iceland. Besides Europe, it also lives in North Asia, in the territory that belongs to Russia, and in North Africa.

It is a resilient animal that can survive in almost all types of ecosystems: they can be seen in forests, meadows, wetlands, and even in urbanized areas. They need concentrations of water to reproduce because they are animals that lay eggs, from which tadpoles are born.

However, as tadpoles undergo metamorphosis and gain legs, they hardly need to return to the water and become land animals more than aquatic animals. It is, therefore, more common to find them in areas with lakes, reservoirs, rivers, or lagoons. They can also appear in areas far from standing water.

Frog diet is based on insects and can be varied: ants, mosquitoes, grasshoppers, spiders, etc. They are not very demanding with food and are satisfied with what they find to eat.
